So, you’ve got kids and would love to include them in your wedding celebrations and keep them entertained for your special day. You will still be up for the cost of feeding and watering the kids, however most catering companies reduce the cost of a meal for the under 12’s and the great news is that there are lots of ways you can keep them happily entertained at your wedding and it doesn’t have to cost the earth.

Tip 1

Our five acres has lots of running space so they can run themselves “ragged” safely and with any luck collapse later for you and sleep well. Some couples have organised a children’s table with chairs, dress-ups, colouring books and other activities in the gardens to keep them entertained.

Tip 2

Think about games in the gardens to keep both the kids and the big people amused. We offer a package of unique giant wooden games that are lots of fun for the whole family and will get everyone talking and mingling.

Tip 3

Another variation on the garden games and only slightly more expensive is to think about hiring a jumping castle. At a recent wedding, there were 20 children and they had the time of their lives jumping the night away. The castle was positioned right outside the marquee so the kids could be supervised easily and parents could see them at all times.

Tip 4

Create a kids table in the marquee that is uniquely their own, including activities for them so they feel part of your celebration.

Tip 5

If there are lots of kids including older ones, we could organise their own marquee for them, right down to bean bags, rugs, PlayStation, their own menu and supervisors for the night so parents can have the night off but are nice and handy in case they are needed. This worked fabulously for a wedding where we had 30 kids including some teenagers.

Tip 6

A great option is to include the kids in the ceremony but arrange for them to be picked up later so you can enjoy a night off.

As part of our value-added service we offer free high-chairs and a private space for breastfeeding mums.

Remember we are only 10 klms from the centre of town so if the kids do become exhausted, they are not far from home.
